LMU Women’s Volleyball Shines in WCC Awards and Prepares for NCAA Tournament.
Record-Breaking Honors for LMU Athletes
The Loyola Marymount University (LMU) women’s volleyball team dominated the 2024 West Coast Conference (WCC) awards, securing eight prestigious accolades. Sam Hastings, Paige Flickinger, Mia Schafer, and Sophia Meyers were named to the All-Conference First Team.
Jiana Lawson earned a place on the Second Team, Marlee Arrington joined the All-Freshman Team, and Kalani Hayes received Honorable Mention recognition.
Individual Milestones and Awards
- Sam Hastings: Libero of the Year, surpassing 1,000 career digs and earning her second First Team honor.
- Mia Schafer: Setter of the Year, achieving over 3,000 assists and 900 digs in her career.

Coach of the Year Recognition
Head coach Trent Kersten was named WCC Coach of the Year, the first LMU women’s volleyball coach to receive this honor since 1996.
Outstanding Season and Upcoming Tournament
The Lions completed the regular season with a stellar 16-2 conference record and a 24-5 overall mark. They now prepare to face the Washington Huskies on December 6 at 4:30 PM in the NCAA Tournament’s first round.
